First one of these in awhile. A little more morose than I think it should be, but I haven't rerecorded it yet. I popped a string on my guitar and didn't bother to replace it. Oh and I'm still an awful guitarist.
On that note, here's a little love for y'all. This is one of those rare songs I actually have memorized (sort of). There's a weird jump in the middle because I spared you guys a minute and half of me adjusting my position and fussing with my hair. That goofy grin on my face is because I'm sitting there scraping the bottom of the barrel. Like I'm sitting there going "Am I gonna hit this note? Can I sing that low? I sure hope so!" Also I wish I could live in that shirt. I have like three. Love you!
Clearly I have no misconception about internet fame, as I recorded this video in my gym clothes. Also, have I ever told you, Internet, that I am probably rhythm deaf?
Things you can glean from this video: I am the nerdiest person you know. I don't practice guitar very often ("you have been playing since you were 16??"). I don't know how to use my movie making software on my computer (or else I'd have eyeballs in this video). But I appreciate the timbre of my voice singing this song and I hope you do too.
"I'm on Fire" Bruce Springsteen
Also, I wanted to share this gem of an outtake from an earlier attempt.
"Because things are awkward".
A little vanity. Not my best recording. Not my worst. I think I was clapping out of rhythm. And I managed to skip the chorus entirely. Forgive me. I was riding an emotion. Also you can hear my plastic piano keys clicking.
